It's FInished!!!!

I can't believe it is finally finished.  As soon as the Happy Go Lucky by Bonnie & Camille for Moda fat quarter bundle was released, I snagged it up and started French Kisses by Traceyjay Quilts.

I highly recommend the pattern.  Tracey let me know to double the blocks and add an X block to make it in to a queen/king size quilt.  After I pieced the quilt, I let it sit until the yardage was released in May.  The quilt top finished at 96"x 96" and I decided to hand quilt it because my little machine wouldn't be able to handle it.

The O blocks were quilted inside each of the circles.

The X blocks were quilted right down the middle.

I still have shams to quilt and maybe a cover for my body pillow to round out the set.

I am linking up with Clover & Violet's Season by Hand, since I hand quilted and hand bound this quilt which was more than 50% of the time spent on creating this queen sized quilt.

Hexagon Table Runner

I finished up my hexagon table runner using Simply Color from V& Co.  It's home is on top of the chest of drawers in my bedroom.

The hexies were hand pieced using large 3" hexagons and the machine quilted.  I echo quilted three different hexies every inch until they met.

Modern Mini

This is my entry into the modern mini challenge at Ellison Lane Quilts

So it might not be very modern, but it is a mini and I love it.  It finished at just under 18" by 24".  I finished it just before February for Valentine's day.  Even though it was made for Valentine's Day, I still have it decorating my office wall at work.

The letters are paper pieced and the hearts are pieced using a charm pack.  The fabric is Flirt by Sandy Gervais for Moda.

For the back, I used left over charms and part of a fat quaerter.

Works in Progress

This weekend started off a bit hairy. My husband pulled out a 3" long nail out of our Duke's paw.  Poor baby was so good and is doing much better today.  He is on a round of antibiotics to make sure any infections are stopped and things don't get worse for him.

I started quilting my table runner.  After much debating, I chose to pick a few hexagons and echo quilt them until the lines run into each other.  I am free motion quilting the straight lines and it is going very fast.

I also started using my scraps and left over charm squares to make 2" hexagons.  I will eventually combine them into a large scrappy quilt.

My biggest accomplishment thus far is French Kisses in Happy Go Lucky.  I highly recommend Tracey's Quilt pattern, French Kisses.  She even helped me with modifying the size.  I am making it 5 blocks x 5 blocks to make a queen size quilt that will finish at 96" square.  You can't see the top row, but it is amazing.

When I constructed the French Kisses quilt top, I ended up with tons of half square triangles.  I started putting them together and made two pillow shams to match my quilt.  If I had my way, I would ask Moda to make the orange on white or aqua on white mums print to be made into a sheets set or in extra wide (to make sheets).

Wouldn't this make beautiful sheets?

Simply Color Table Runner

I finally finished my first table runner out of Simply Color, from V & Company.  I am making a pair of table runners to top my dresser and chest of drawers in my bedroom.

I cut out 3.5 inch squares to make 9 patches and reverse star blocks in white.  I made it as random as I could. I cut out all the 3.5 inch squares, put them in a bag, and shook them up.  All I did was make sure that two of the same fabrics weren't touching.  It was really easy and I love the results.

For the back I used the navy leaf print.

And here is the table runner in it's place on top of my dresser.

Blogger's Quilt Festival-Flower Garden

AmysCreativeSide.com

My second entry into the Blogger's Quilt Festival is Flower Garden, a wall hanging made with Tula Pink's The Birds and The Bees. I fussy cut many of the large hexagons.

The backing was pieced using some of the remains of the fat quarters.

Blogger's Quilt Festival-Tradewinds Quilt

The Tradewinds Quilt is my first entry into the blogger's quilt festival.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a throw sized quilt made using a layer cake and the blue yardage. It is the perfect snuggly quilt for my husband and I on the couch.  I was able to fussy cut many of the elephants and center them in the 8 pointed stars.  I quilted this on my home machine with wavy lines on the diagonal. I am still working on a pattern to publish via Craftsy in the next few months or so.

I am entering it into the throw sized quilt category.
